Cannes Soirée Partner: Advertising Producers Association

The Advertising Producers Association (APA) is joining The Location Guide as a partner for our Soirée at the Cannes Lions Festival.

Based in London, the APA represents the interests of UK companies involved with production, post-production and visual effects in the commercials industry.

Steve Davies is Chief Executive of the APA: “We are delighted to be involved with the Soirée because The Location Guide drinks are always a highlight.

“The Majestic Pier is about as perfect a spot as you can get and it is the perfect time of the day to be able to talk to people, whether people you know and want to catch up with or new contacts, before the loud music and incoherence kicks in at the parties later.”

Most of the APA’s Cannes involvement is through the CFP-E (Commercial Film Producers – Europe), with the main events being the Young Directors Award and the World Producers Summit.

Davies adds: “Both provide interesting and useful events for our members who are in Cannes to meet people they work with or want to work with, and gather intelligence about opportunities to develop their businesses and find new clients.”

The Young Directors Award is run through the CFP-E offices and showcases emerging talent, while the World Producer Summit involves 100 production companies from more than 30 countries around the world. This is an opportunity to discuss challenges facing production companies from nation to nation. In addition the APA also supports the Straight 8 competition, which also showcases talent from around the world.

The APA’s new publication The Beak Street Bugle promotes the UK’s commercial filmmaking expertise to 70,000 advertising agency creatives around the world.
