Bollywood action movie Bang Bang to film scenes on location in Abu Dhabi

Bollywood action movie Bang Bang will spend nearly a month filming on location in Abu Dhabi. Loosely based on Tom Cruise’s 2010 action comedy Knight and Day, the movie will use the Emirate city’s 30% filming incentive.

India’s Fox Star Studios has partnered with twofour54 intaj in Abu Dhabi for the movie that features Bollywood stars Katrina Waif and Hrithik Roshan.

“Fox Star Studios is happy to be partnering with twofour54, the commercial arm of the Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority,” said Vijay Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Fox Star Studios: “We are developing a slate of films in Bollywood and Tamil to appeal to the fast-growing Indian theatrical market, as also the diaspora that lives across the world.

“We are excited about our partnership with twofour54 on Bang Bang, which is our biggest Bollywood film, and are looking forward to doing some big-ticket action in Abu Dhabi with assistance from twofour54 intaj.”

Added Noura Al Kaabi, Chief Executive Officer of twofour54: “Abu Dhabi is steadily gaining popularity with major international studios and is fast becoming an attractive hub for filming, production, and post-production."

“Government support, our production facilities, access to experienced crew, the range of diverse locations, and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission’s rebate, are successfully attracting regional and global films to the Emirate,” Al Kaabi added.

Hollywood action sequel Fast & Furious 7 wrapped in Abu Dhabi a couple of weeks ago and the long-running The Bold and the Beautiful recently became the first international soap to shoot scenes on location in the city.

Bollywood is a regular visitor to the United Arab Emirates and Shah Rukh Khan made a high-profile visit to Dubai last year for his new movie Happy New Year.
