A group of filmmaking professionals in New Hampshire on the east coast of the US is calling for a location filming incentive programme. The New Hampshire Production Coalition (NHPC) wants to be more competitive with states that are already nationally known as film-friendly.
Tim Egan, of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, is also the NHPC’s President and spoke to New Hampshire Public Radio: “You know the state has no sales tax, no capital gains tax [or] things of that nature, so those are real positive. The biggest thing right now that is prohibitive is that we don’t have tax incentives.”

New Hampshire doesn’t have much of a filmmaking profile, but nearby New York is firmly established as a national production hub and is pushing to expand its industry beyond New York City.
New Hampshire could come onto the radar of roving location scouts looking for something a little different in the region, which is where an incentive programme could prove useful.
