Over the next five years the British Film Institute (BFI) has pledged to boost its Film Fund by nearly GBP10 million a year and reaffirm its commitment to the whole of the UK. The investment plan is entitled Film Forever and follows an 18-month industry consultation.
Amanda Nevill is Chief Executive Officer of the BFI: “We are investing where we think we can most make a difference, where we see potential for creative excellence and where we can be the supportive catalyst for change, innovation, business growth and jobs.”

The BFI is keen to stress that it’s focussed on UK-wide production, as opposed to prioritising work in London. Some GBP500 million will be invested over the next five years, with the bulk of the spending earmarked for education and audiences.
Closer production relationships will also be forged between the BFI and regional agencies including Creative England, Creative Scotland and Northern Ireland Screen.
