Netflix’s American Primeval to begin filming in New Mexico

New Mexico Film Office director Amber Dodson announced on 15 February that filming for Netflix’s newest series American Primeval will begin filming in New Mexico. Set to begin filming this month in and around the Santa Fe area,the action-adventure limited series will star Taylor Kitsch as lead character Isaac. With substantial employment of New Mexico natives, the production will be yet another Netflix collaboration with the state and another step on the development of New Mexico’s thriving visual industry.

As millions flocked to watch this Sunday’s Super Bowl main event- Rihanna of course- audiences were rivetted with top notch performances and an American football game too. But besides the half time show excitement and the battle between two teams for the esteemed Vince Lombardi trophy, the Super Bowl has also been known for its conversation starting commercials and trailers that keep viewers on their engaged all the way through. From newlyweds Ben Affleck and J-Lo enjoying some Dunkin Doughnuts to the return of M&M spokescandies, this year’s commercials did not disappoint.

The project was curated by director  Tony Yacenda of SMUGGLER, along with creative agency 72andSunny New York. Titled Success Stories, human values meets work place processes to promote authenticity in business.

Paramount+ announces cast for new series The Killing Kind

Paramount+ announced on 30 January the casting for new original UK drama series The Killing Kind. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Jane Casey, The series will be produced by Eleventh Hour Films. Shot on location  at Bristol’s The Bottle Yard Studios and moving to London later this year, the new series will star Emma Appleton and Colin Morgan as the leading characters.

A Savage Christmas filming now in Queensland

Australian feature A Savage Christmas is currently filming in Queensland. With support from the Queensland government through Screen Queensland’s Screen Finance Programme and principal production investment from Screen Australia, this project will be the debut form production company Roaring Entertainment Production. This will also be the first full-length feature from Townsville-based director, writer and producer Madeline Dyer.

Sharper brings a complex con-artist story to Apple TV+

Apple Originals and A24 created Sharper is set to be released for streaming on 17 February. The neo-noir thriller, set amongst the New York City sights, follows the unravelling of secrets and lies as the characters stop at nothing for riches. Starring Julianna Moore, Sebastian Stan, John Lithgow, Justice Smith and Briana Middleton, the project is directed by Benjamin Caron.
