OIL Plattform wanted for Photoshoot

Hi There,

We are looking for an oilplatform in the Northsea.
It must be possible to do a photoshoot on the platform and make photo's from a helicopter.
It must be an oil platform and not a gas platform.
Any one tips?

Kind regards Franck

Greetings Franck.

I've already worked on commercial shoot on an Oil Rig in Scotland. We filmed both on the deck of a Rig in for refit and aerials over an operational rig in the North Sea. Link attached.

The Health & Safety was just a talk and video. The stuff to worry about is transport, coded supply boats etc and getting in the crane basket that carries crew on board.

There are excellent Aerial Facilities nearby - with highly experienced pilots and a fleet of twin-engine helicopters.

Give me a call should you wish to know more.

Hi Frank,

If you do not get access to any oil platform through other contacts, you could send us all information about the project (client, purpose of the images, usage, dates, crew, special requirements), and we could talk to an oil company in Spain.

But this is something that requires a "firm" request, with all information. We can not make them work just to get information, and then decide for another company. If we ask them to work for us finding out availability, we have to go with them.

Please contact me at any time. Best,

victor

Hi Franck

We are looking into some contacts and possibilities for you just now for your oil rig.

Would you be able to email me any further details on:

- the client?
- does the photographer have rig and helicopter experience already?
- what shots on the rig are required?
- when is the shoot proposed?

There are usually many health and safety issues for shooting on an actual rig so the more info we have from you, the easier it should be to organise.

With kind regards

Hi Frank

Always a tricky one with these due to health and safety rules. That being said I have a photographer friend who has done a lot of work shooting on platforms and may be able to advise you if of interest.
Also up on the Moray Firth past the black Isle a number of rigs come in for maintainance and are a lot more accessible as they sit in the relative calm of the estuary

Cheers

Dave
