Arizona launches biggest incentive yet

The Arizona government has launched the Arizona Motion Picture Production Programme. It is the state’s largest annual film and television tax incentive to date. The legislature was passed in June 2022, but Governor Doug Ducey allowed the bill to become law, without signing it, on 6 July. The initiative is set to run until 2043.

The Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) has unveiled nominations for the 9th Annual LMGI Awards. This ceremony honours outstanding and creative visual contributions of international location professionals who work in film, television and the commercial industry. The winners will be celebrated at the LMGI Awards ceremony, which returns to a live in-person event on Saturday 27th August, 2022.

The New Mexico Film Office has announced that the feature film Rust is currently in production in Santa Fe, the state’s capital. Taking place throughout October and early November 2021, the project is expected to employ an estimated 75 crew members, 22 principal actors, and 230 background talent – all of whom will hail from the New Mexico region.

The feature film from Apple Studios stars Leonardo DiCaprio (The Revenant, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Robert De Niro (Joker, The Irishman), Lily Gladstone (Billions, Certain Women) and Jesse Plemons (El Camino, Black Mirror). Killers of the Flower Moon is Oklahoma’s largest shoot in history and is being used to train up the state’s workforce. Recent large shoots in the state include Taika Waitaki series Reservation Dogs.
