Ohio tax credits: Will they or won't they?
Ohio lawmakers have approved a bill which would grant a 25% tax credit on total investments made in Ohio by film companies. The credits would be transferable from shoot to shoot, but would be capped at USD100 million.
The legislation was approved by 50 votes to 39. The voting followed party lines with Republicans in favour and Democrats opposing because of concerns about corporate giveaways.
Ohio Republicans are hoping the bill will be passed by the Senate in a lame-duck session this month before the Democrats take control in January.
