PIFF receives increased funding

The Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) will receive extra government funding to secure its future in difficult economic times. Funding will increase from USD3.26 million last year to USD4.47 million this year.

Jay Jeon, deputy director and World Cinema programmer at PIFF, said: "The organising committee met and agreed that whatever happened, PIFF's budget shouldn't be reduced. So they have increased funding support to offset any potential drops in corporate sponsorship."
