New Alaska Commissioner
Dave Worrell is the new head of the Alaska Film Office. Worrell has replaced former independent producer Mary Katzke.
The state recently re-established the Alaska Film Office and created the Alaska Film Incentive Programme. The office now has a yearly operating budget of USD350,000.
The new incentive provides a 30% tax credit on all qualified expenditure if a production spends at least USD100,000 in a consecutive 24 month period. An additional 10% can be claimed on wages paid to Alaska residents as well as a further 2% for filming in a rural area and 2% if filming occurs between the start of October and the end of March.
Worrell can be reached at david.worrell@alaska.gov
