Tax credits in US state of Georgia increase filming production by 400% in two years

Filming production throughout the state of Georgia in the US has risen by 400% over the course of the last two years, according to figures from the Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

Eligible productions can access an income tax credit of 20%, while relevant product placement or the embedding of the state logo in the titles or end credits can deliver an additional 10% credit.

More than 100 different productions have been filmed in the state since the tax credits were launched. Recent films have included Zombieland, The Blind Side and Miley Cyrus vehicle The Last Song.
