Camelot to begin filming in County Wicklow, Ireland

A new interpretation of the story of Camelot is scheduled to begin filming this week in County Wicklow, Ireland. The production will film in Ardmore Studios and on location in Wicklow itself. It is expected to generate around EUR25 million for the local economy over the course of its 22-week shoot.

Kevin Moriarty, Managing Director of Ardmore Studios, said: “The commencement of Camelot in this country reflects very well on the Government with the various tax incentives that are in place.”

Since 2008 film and television productions filming in Ireland have been able to claim back up to 28% of their Irish spend. The Camelot production follows the success of The Tudors, which filmed in the same place.
