The Location Guide launches Film-Friendly Locations

Helping to see in the New Year in style, we launched the Film-Friendly Location feature on our website in early January. We're building a database designed to make filmmakers’ lives even easier.

Locations on the database detail places around the world that will welcome productions with open arms and that will be flexible and accommodating to what crews are looking for.

Existing entries include Casale Tara, a country house in Umbria, Italy, which offers high ceilings, stone arches and a private swimming pool. Georgian mansion Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire in the UK provides more than 100 rooms and 35,000 sq ft of floor space, and has been used for feature production The Golden Compass, as well as high-profile TV projects like Primeval and acclaimed drama The Special Relationship. There’s also the un-used hospital complex in Mallorca that remains fully furnished and available for shooting.

We’ve made a strong start, but now we’re looking for your input and support to help expand our new resource. If you have a location anywhere in the world that would look great in a film production and has resources and facilities a production team would love, get in touch with Ewa, our Research Executive, and she can help arrange your listing.

Alternatively, if you don’t run a location but you’ve filmed somewhere that you were particularly impressed with that you think should be part of our database, we’d also like to hear from you. So get your film-friendly location publicised to Producers and Location Managers around the world through The Location Guide!
