Huntington Beach in California opens new film commission to encourage location filming
Huntington Beach in Orange County, California, has opened a film commission. It will offer free assistance in helping film crews find anything from filming locations through to on-set catering and accommodation. It will also be responsible for marketing the seaside city.
I am very excited to promote this beautiful city to the film and television industry, and to inform them of production resources and lesser-known locations within Huntington Beach.
Briton Saxton, Huntington Beach Film Commission
Briton Saxton is the new Film Commissioner: “I am very excited to promote this beautiful city to the film and television industry, and to inform them of production resources and lesser-known locations within Huntington Beach.”
California remains one of the main production hubs in the US and the state filming incentive was recently granted a one-year extension. The scheme divides opinion, however, with many opponents arguing the film fund could be better spent. California faces stiff production competition from New York and Louisiana.
