Comic Strip TV show doubles Plymouth’s Admiralty House for 10 Downing Street

Admiralty House in Mount Wise, Plymouth, on the UK’s south coast has doubled for 10 Downing Street for a new TV show. Comic Strip used the building for a one-off film noir spoof that sees former Prime Minister Tony Blair accused of murder and on the run.

Admiralty House managed to truly capture the imagination of the producers, an effect it has on many who visit. Hosting this filming really demonstrates the uniqueness of Mount Wise.

Richard Keen is Development Advisor at the historic building: “Admiralty House managed to truly capture the imagination of the producers, an effect it has on many who visit. Hosting this filming really demonstrates the uniqueness of Mount Wise – there are certainly very few places which could be set up to represent 10 Downing Street.”

Admiralty House is a Grade II listed building and the surrounding community of Mount Wise offers nearly 470 homes built in a Georgian architectural style. The development will eventually cover nearly 30 acres, about a mile from Plymouth city centre.
