Entries close for 2011 Ciclope International Advertising Craft Festival in Buenos Aires
Entries have closed for this year’s Ciclope International Advertising Craft Festival, scheduled to run from November 14th-16th in Buenos Aires. This is the festival’s second year of honouring the craft of commercial production and there were more than 300 entries from 25 countries around the world.
As well as showcasing the work, there’ll be two separate workshops over the three-day event. Stephen Venning, Executive Producer of The Mill in the UK, will be discussing the best ways to use 3D in commercial production. In addition, Simon Gosling, Executive Producer at Framestore, also in the UK, will be talking about character design and advertising mascots.

Festival Director Francisco Condorelli explained his motivation for establishing the event: “After visiting a lot of advertising festivals around the world, I saw that there was a festival for everybody; agencies mostly and then media agencies, interactive agencies, direct marketing and below-the-line agencies, and much more. Believe it or not, the industry is not so aware of how important it is to give recognition to production companies.”
This year’s event will also include seminars showcasing the work of Wieden + Kennedy and discussing the state of the commercial music industry, respectively.
