Los Angeles gears up for the AFCI Locations Show 2012

The AFCI Locations Show starts on June 15th in Los Angeles and The Location Guide will be there. It takes place at the Los Angeles Convention Center and this year is aligned with the Los Angeles Film Festival.

Delegates can attend the show for free and have access to presentations from more than 200 film commissions around the world. Production professionals take part from film, TV and commercials, and there will be a rich selection of panels and workshops addressing the most pertinent issues currently facing the filming industries.

Seminars this year include Doc U: Shooting Overseas – Making Your Doc on Foreign Soil, and Production Incentive Experience – Get Your Slice of the Pie!, which will explore how bigger does not necessarily mean better when it comes to filming incentives. A separate panel will discuss what the future holds for filming incentives, following a tumultuous year and see-sawing support for film subsidies, especially in the US.

TV Commercial Focus On Latin America will talk about the growing appeal of South America for commercial production and a separate panel will discuss the potential for future co-productions with BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries. This could be particularly interesting given that Marvel will be filming soon in China and James Cameron is also exploring options in the region.
