Game of Thrones faces British summer weather challenges

HBO’s fantasy series Game of Thrones has faced challenging weather conditions on location in Northern Ireland. Summertime is yet to properly show its face in Britain, although climatic conditions are certainly not unique to the UK.

Frank Doelger is an Executive Producer on the show and spoke to UTV: “We've been able to find an incredible variety of locations. The weather is definitely a challenge, but I have to let you know that we've been rained out in Malta, we've been rained out in Croatia and we've been snowed out in Iceland, so all the other areas that we've gone to have been challenging as well.”

Game of Thrones is based in Northern Ireland at Belfast’s Paint Hall Studios and filming for the new season will also take in Morocco, in addition to Croatia and Iceland.
