India and Spain sign location filming agreement to boost regional production
India and Spain have signed a location filming agreement designed to boost production in each respective country. Neither nation offers a formal filming incentive programme but the deal is intended to improve how they share their filmmaking and artistic resources.
The Information and Broadcasting Ministry in India said: “The agreement provides opportunities for both the countries to pool their creative, artistic, technical, financial and marketing resources to co-produce films.”
Five other European countries, including the UK and Germany, already have similar agreements in place with India. Spain has seen a boost in film tourism since hosting Bollywood productions and it will be hoping to benefit more in the coming months and years.
