Cairns in Australia targets location filming boost with new showreel
Cairns in Australia has launched a four-minute location showreel as part of a film-friendly initiative. The video showcases regional filming locations and could help attract more productions like World War II miniseries The Pacific.
Bob Manning is Mayor of Cairns: “To hear filmmakers talk about their positive experiences and to rave about the scenic locations really demonstrates just what we have to offer."
This showreel will further help us to be visible on a world stage in this highly-competitive industry.

Situated in northern Queensland, Cairns has issued about 40 location filming permits a year for the past three years and is a popular place for domestic productions. In recent years Queensland has attracted major productions including The Pacific and prehistoric drama Terra Nova.
