Sleepy Hollow TV pilot films on location in North Carolina
A TV pilot based on Washington Irving's 19th Century short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is filming on location in the Charlotte region of North Carolina. Tim Burton turned the story into a gothic horror in 1999 with Johnny Depp and Christopher Walken.
“20th Century Fox really loved the historic nature of Salisbury,” Charlotte Regional Film Commission’s Director Beth Petty told the Salisbury Post: “We are thrilled that 20th Century Fox decided to come back to the Charlotte region.”
Should the pilot be commissioned for a full series, the show will be added to a busy roster of TV productions filming in North Carolina. Stephen King drama Under the Dome is also working on a pilot shoot, while the dystopian Revolution is midway through its first season. Terrorism thriller Homeland is already an established hit.
