Advertising company WPP enjoys strong first half for 2013
London-based advertising company WPP enjoyed a strong first half of 2013, with pre-tax profits rising nearly 20%. Organic revenue growth reached 5% in July and as a result the company has slightly increased its full-year growth forecast.
“There has been some slowing of revenue growth rates in the faster growing markets of Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East and central and eastern Europe, but this was more than compensated by a significant improvement in the revenue growth rates in the mature markets of North America and the United Kingdom in the second quarter,” the company said.
WPP revenue in the first half increased to GBP5.33 billion, marking a rise from the GBP5.29 billion originally estimated by analysts. The company is now predicting full-year sales growth of slightly more than 3%.
