Landia launches Honda CG motorbike filming on location in Rio de Janeiro

Landia Sao Paulo used the iconic city of Rio de Janeiro to represent locations across Brazil in a new spot launching the Honda CG motorbike. Tudo Novo shows Brazilians giving their cities a loving once-over in preparation for the Honda’s arrival.

Locations throughout Rio were used to stand in for different places across Brazil, with a combination of set design and digital post-production clean-up work used to create a distinct feel in each scene.

“Brazil has continental dimensions and it's very different in every region,” explains Landia’s executive producer Sebastian Hall: “We had a bigger challenge to find one city that would help us to become the whole of Brazil; we found it in Rio. But it's a big city and we had a lot to shoot, and we gave to every location its own spirit.”

Rio is used regularly as a filming location, not least because the city is home to the country’s largest TV channel. Assistance from local authorities was very forthcoming for Landia, although Hall adds that having to get multiple filming permits from different agencies can be tricky.

“With the proper time to do the paperwork, there are a few options where you can close roads in Rio. When the new Honda appears downtown and we shoot on a Sunday, it’s pretty manageable,” Hall finishes.
