Swedish film Underdog wins Scandinavian Locations Award in Goteborg
Swedish movie Svenskjävel (Underdog), filmed in Oslo, has won the inaugural Scandinavian Locations Award at the Goteborg Film Festival in Sweden. The event has been running since 1979 and is the largest film festival in Scandinavia.
“The winner of the Scandinavian Locations Award has managed to show us a new and surprising side of a place,” said the festival jury.
“The strong portrayal of the city creates a brutal contrast to the sleepy suburb and the beautiful fjord landscape and allows each image in the film to become a strong visual part of a very touching story. For an Oslo allowed to be urban, dark and full of graffiti.”
The award was presented to Nina Bjerch-Andresen by Mikael Svensson of the Oresund Film Commission and Ingrid Rudersfors of the Stockholm Film Commission.
