Young Director Award 2016 deadline extended to May 22nd

The deadline for sending in applications for the Young Director Award 2016 has now been extended from the original date of May 15th, to May 22nd. This alteration will provide contestants with a chance to further assess their final pieces before submission and entice other candidates who couldn’t make the original deadline to apply.

The YDA accepts entries from Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Africa. This broad spectrum ensures that the YDA truly represents young talent on a global scale.

This year’s YDA will feature a brand new category entitled ‘Changing the World Frame by Frame’, designed to highlight projects which tackle social injustice in an insightful way.

Alongside the new category, the YDA have also entered into a partnership with Sparknews. Founded by Christian de Boiseron, Sparknews invests in charitable initiatives that aim to bring about social change throughout the world.

This partnership will allow the two companies to utilise film as a method of addressing social issues and finding meaningful, long lasting solutions.
