The Location Guide 2016: A year in review

2016 has definitely been a captivating year for some, but here at TLG it will be remembered for the incredible amount of growth the company has endured as we continue to work with professionals from all over the world.

FOCUS made its grand return to the Business Design Centre in London, where our revamped approach of offering more cutting edge, industry-led sessions absolutely free, proved to be a massive success.

Detailing the increased interest at FOCUS 2016, The Location Guide’s Commercial Director, Clara Le explains: “we are delighted to report that attendance was up 40% on 2015 to just over 1500 across the two days, and we are confident that the quality of delegates also improved year on year. 33% of day one visitors returned on day two, helping to demonstrate that the event was not only valuable, but enjoyable too.”

“We had 160 exhibitors from 55 countries present at the show. FOCUS 2016 boasted even more content, with over 100 speakers at 35 panel discussions, presentations and workshops, covering film, TV, advertising and interactive content.”

Alongside FOCUS however, the Guide itself has received the biggest overhaul in design. Evolving from our signature style, the 2017 edition of The Location Guide features 100 of the hottest filming locations around the globe and a larger write-up for each individual entry. This new, comprehensive approach continues to solidify The Location Guide as the must-have locations directory for anyone working in the production industry.

Our online editorial coverage also expanded its reach with more articles contributed by industry professionals than ever before, discussing a range of locations from Hawaii to Myanmar, Vietnam to the Bahamas.

As emerging industries sought to stake their claim on the worldwide locations market, so too was TLG at hand to report from the locations themselves. TLG was given exclusive access to familiarisation tours in Poland and French Polynesia, providing our readers with an in-depth look into what these unique countries have to offer. In accordance with our wider range of content, our social media presence and engagement has increased significantly across Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Saving one of the best achievements for last, we are excited to announce that The Location Guide will be debuting an entirely new website in early 2017. The combined efforts of everyone on the team have allowed us to create a streamlined user interface that will improve how you engage with TLG in the future. Best of all, the new website will be mobile-friendly!

Expect to see more exciting announcements in the near future and thank you to everyone who has supported us in our endeavours, you allow us to remain an essential part of the location and production industry.

We would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a wonderful new year.

See you in 2017!
