Film London welcomes five new members to its Board of Directors

Film LondonFilm London have announced five new members to join its Board of Directors. The new appointees will bring expertise in finance, legal, government and education, strengthening its commitment to education and diversity.

Geraldine Atlee, Head of Legal and Business Affairs at BBC Films who has worked on legal deals for films including Widows, Room and T2 Trainspotting; Judith Chan, Executive Director of Coutts & Co who specialises in structuring film and television lending transactions; John Graydon, Head of Film and TV at Saffery Champness who has provided specialist advice on financing opportunities having advised on titles such as Star Wars, Three Billbords Outside Ebbing Missouri and Downton Abbey; Jeff Jacobs, recently Chief Officer of the Greater London Authority has extensive experience in government and Frances Trought, former Deputy Vice Principal at Pearson College and author of Brilliant Employability Skills currently working on a book focusing on Digital Skills, are the new appointees hoped to drive Film London’s strategic direction and commitment to connecting ideas, talent and finance.

Daniel Battsek, Chair of Film London and Director of Film4 said “I am thrilled to welcome our new board members, whose breadth of skills, knowledge and experience provide a perfect fit for Film London’s wide-reaching remit”.

Frances Trought will take on a new board position of Education. Battsek explains that “our Education position is particularly timely as we continue our commitment to tackling equal opportunities and inclusion within the industry”. Film London has recently announced new initiatives with industry leaders to grow its Equal Access Network committed to increasing diversity and training.

The new members will replace outgoing members Sir Robin Young, Liz Meek, Isabel Begg and Kevin Price. Adrian Wootton OBE, Chief Executive of Film London and the British Film Commission praised the outgoing members, saying “I owe an enormous gratitude to our outgoing members, whose talent, energy and commitment over the past six years have helped us continue to go from strength to strength”.
