Nike’s Nothing Beats a Londoner wins Commercial of the Year and Best Crafted Commercial at The British Arrows 2019
Nike’s Nothing Beats a Londoner campaign (below) that speaks to British youth in their own language won over the jury in both the Commercial of the Year and Best Crafted Commercial categories. Starring sporting talent such as Mo Farrah, Harry Kane, Alex Iwobi and Eden Hazard as well as musicians Skepta and Kurupt FM, the spot highlights normal Londoners dedicated to sporting success. The spot shot all around London, capturing the pace and humour of the capital.
Megaforce directed the Nike campaign which was produced by RiffRaff for Wieden+Kennedy. The three and a half minute ad took home five arrows; Best over 90 second commercial, Best Social Video, Integrated, Innovative Use of Video as well as Sports. It also won seven Craft Arrows, including casting, directing, VFX and achievement in production.
Adam&eveDDB was awarded Advertising Agency of the Year. The agency were behind the John Lewis & Partners The Boy and the Piano and Bohemian Rhapsody campaigns that caused a stir. Their Great Western Railway spot Famous Five and the Missing Jewels also won the craft arrow for 3D Animation. The animation was done at London’s Electric Theatre Collective.
Production Company of the Year was awarded to Somesuch whose work on Viva La Vulva for Essity, Libresse/Bodyform for AMVBBDO was awarded three gold arrows, and three craft arrows. Amazon Prime Video series Jack Ryan (below); Vikings; Lucifer; Outlander directed by Steve Rogers for Droga5 was also awarded six arrows.
