Kyiv Media Week 2019 Release Event Program
Effective business models, creative and innovative technologies in content production is the focus of the Kyiv Media Week 2019. Registration is now open for the forum, which will be held on September 16 – 19, 2019 in Kyiv.
Highlighting cutting-edge technologies and trends, as well as creative approaches and efficient business models in TV and film production, the forum aims to bring together top players of media business, creative industries and those engaged in audiovisual content production, from Ukraine, the region, and beyond.
The 2018 forum hosted forty-four high profile events and gathered over eight-hundred participants from nearly forty countries. This year’s event will see representatives of the film and television industry from China, Canada and Korea with special screenings and presentations dedicated to their media markets insights and the peculiarities of cooperation with these countries.
A broad discussion of topics focused on Ukraine-produced or co-produced content and its prospects to travel worldwide in line with recent trends – such as the case of Ukrainian Hide and Seek picked up for distribution by ZDF Enterprises, and several sections are co-hosted with organizations involved in Ukrainian creative industries development and regulation. For the third year in a row, TV Channel Ukraine is sponsoring the events line-up dedicated to series, while Ukrainian State Film Agency backs the sections dedicated to the film business.
Presentations and keynotes will include Ed Waller, editor-in-chief of C21 Media on “Trends, Opportunities and challenges in the international content market”, Virginia Mouseler, co-founder of Swiss company The WIT, delivering two exclusive keynotes on global viewing trends and global drama trends, and K7 Media’s communications manager David Ciaramella presenting on the future of VoD giants as well as the hottest kids content from all over the world.
An exclusive event dedicated to blockchain and the prospects of its implementation in the media sphere will be delivered by Manual Badel, founder of Badel Media. Specialising in digital media financing, content production, distribution and business models, Badel will present on the challenges faced by the modern media industry due to the rapid market changes, and why blockchain can be a solution to many current issues focusing on new approaches to IP management, monetisation, financing, marketing and content distribution as well as the popular topic of cryptocurrencies.
In partnership with US based international distributor Small World IFT and the largest international audiovisual content market MIPCOM, the final round of the fifth international ideas contest “Small World. Big ideas” will also be held during Kyiv Media Week 2019, for which applications are now open.
