Apple TV’s See starring Jason Momoa to film in South Ontario

The second series of See will begin filming in St. Thomas, South Ontario from February and is expected to film until the summer. The first series also filmed in Canada, centred in Vancouver, British Colombia.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world centuries after a virus has destroyed humans ability to see. Those who survived have rebuilt society with new ways to function. Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Aquaman) stars in the role of Baba Voss who must take his family on the run to protect his children who have been born with the power of sight.

The series is set to film on location in St. Thomas, Ontario from February until June or July. A local casting call notes that the majority of filming will take place outdoors.

The first series filmed in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada and premiered on the Apple TV+ for its launch in November.

Incoming productions shooting in Canada can receive a 15% tax credit on Canadian labour expenditures. The Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit (CPTC) is available to co-production or national production. The national incentive is stackable with regional incentives provided by provinces and territories.

The Ontario Film & Television Tax Credit is a refundable tax credit available to eligible Ontario-based Canadian corporations 35% of qualified Ontario labour expenditures for film & TV production. For incoming productions, The Ontario Production Services Tax Credit (OPSTC) is a refundable tax credit to eligible Ontario-based Canadian and foreign-controlled corporations 21.5% of qualified Ontario production expenditures for eligible film and television productions. There is also a 18% refundable tax credit on qualified labour expenditure for digital animation and digital visual effects carried out in Ontario.
