APA & Shots Top 20 of 2020 celebrates the best of British work
The celebration of British work from the last twelve months highlights the production companies, editors, VFX, audio-post and music companies that bring to life the full potential of a script. The awarded work will be highlighted in a session with the APA at FOCUS Digital 2020 on the 15-17 December.
The Top 20 of 2020 was conceived as a way to showcase the ingenuity and creativity of the advertising sector in a year without the annual APA Show or shots Awards Europe. Highlights include Apple – This Watch Tells Time from Reset Content, Argos - Book of Dreams from Stink Films, Ikea’s - Silence the Critics from MJZ and Nike Shanghai - Qiang Diao from Riff Raff Films. Check out the full list of work and credits here.
The APA notes that the awards are a tribute to all the APA members, whether featured on the list or not, as well as “the agencies who created the scripts and (considering the work that was produced during COVID) worked hard to persuade advertisers to make commercials, and to the advertisers themselves for underwriting the risks of COVID postponements and cancellations to get productions going again”.
The Top 20 of 2020 with the Advertising Producers Association will feature as a session at FOCUS Digital, "The meeting Place for International Production” on the 15-17 December. Three days of free-to-attend sessions under the over-arching theme “Future-proofing the Screen Industries” will feature representatives from the British advertising sector as part of a programme which look at the ways of making the screen industries more adaptable using the lessons of the past year.
