The Vienna Film Commission produced two new showreels during the lockdown in spring, which showcase the stunning and diverse locations of Austria’s capital Vienna.

Filming continues constantly in Vienna 

Austria was one of the first countries to secure international service productions with a state guarantee system, financially covering local and international productions if shoots have to be delayed or interrupted because of coronavirus infections.

From mid-June the Austrian federal government invited applications for financial assistance in the form of a grant of up to EUR 2.5 million per production to cover additional costs incurred. For international service productions funded by FISA (Film Industry Support Austria), the grant is up to 50% of the additional eligible costs incurred in Austria due to Covid-19.

Furthermore the Austrian film industry developed safety guidelines for filming during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Currently the Austrian government is intensively working on incentives for all OTT production.
