Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Set For Autumn Shoot

Part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy series stares Chris Pratt (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Lego Movie) Zoe Saldana (Avatar, Avengers Endgame) , Dave Bautista (Knives Out 2, See) and Vin Diesel (Fast and Furious, xXx) as a group of intergalactic criminals who must pull together to stop a fanatical warrior.

There has been a long hiatus between the second volume, which began filming in February 2016 and the third volume.  A lot of action has taken place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame shaking up the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The interlude saw director James Gunn fired and rehired by Marvel and filming pushed back after Gunn was hired by Warner Brothers to direct Suicide Squad. Speaking to Collider, Gunn has confirmed that the third volume is ready to go into production in Georgia in November. It is due for release in May 2023.

Despite remaining quiet on specifics, Gunn has revealed that compared to the previous two volumes, the plot is  “a heavier story, so it's an emotional process to go through."

The first film shot at Longcross and Shepperton Studios in the UK. The second volume saw production move to Atlanta, Georgia.

Georgia is among the busiest filming destinations in the US, and has recorded USD4 billion in direct spending on productions in 2021 fiscal year with productions including other Marvel projects Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever and She Hulk amongst 36 productions currently filming in the state.
