ADVERTORIAL: Taipei city, where amazing films are made!
Taipei Film Commission was established in 2007 to assist audiovisual production in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. We offer assistance for location scouting, traffic control, advertisement broadcasting and much more.
In 2018, Taipei Film Commission officially launched the Taipei Film Fund. It is the first governmental funding scheme in Taiwan to target exclusively international co-production or co-financed film and TV projects. With a Taiwanese partner on board, any project with at least 25% of all scenes shot in Taipei City, or post-production at least partly done here, is eligible for the Taipei Film Fund.
By February 2022 we have funded 21 projects, including award-winning titles such as Wet Season (Anthony Chen, Toronto International Film Festival, 2019), Dead & Beautiful (David Verbeek, International Film Festival Rotterdam, 2021) and MoneyBoys (C. B. Yi, Un Certain Regard at Festival de Cannes, 2021).
As a semi-governmental organisation, the Commission is resourceful and flexible at the same time. Up until February of 2022, we have assisted in the production of over 6,923 audiovisual productions, in which 937 were international projects. We aim to be the best partner for local and international productions filming in Taiwan.
Taipei Film Commission is also dedicated to strengthening and bridging our local film industry to the world not only through promoting locations and facilities at international film markets, but also building partnerships with audiovisual organisations around the world. We help create opportunities locally by carrying out promotional events, holding competitions to encourage creators, and organising the annual Taipei Film Academy, which adds talent cultivation to our efforts in building a better ecosystem.
Taipei Film Commission welcomes you to a creative journey filming here in Taipei, our beloved city.
