Ukrainian filmmaker-turned-paramedic urgently needs donations for new vehicle
Ukrainian filmmaker and writer Helena Maksyom is calling for support. She trained as a paramedic and soldier when the conflict started, and her group of volunteers in the Luhansk region are currently working on Donbass's frontline. They have been treating injured soldiers and driving them to hospital. However, their cars broke down – and they urgently need help to raise money for a new one.
Below we have included the necessary PayPal information and bank account of our Ukrainian friend and film colleague Jeanne Maksymenko-Dovhych, who is collecting money to buy the car. There has been constant shelling in Dobass, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to get provisions to the region. Donations will help Maku and her team continue to make a difference

Helena spent the first few months of the conflict bringing food and primary goods to dangerous places in Ukraine that others feared to enter. She then decided to join the National Guard on the frontline, training as a paramedic and solider. Her nickname among fellow soldiers is 'the Director.'
"There were too many wars before and nobody found a way to stop them," says Helena. "I hope we do have the time to stop this war from spreading further and time to save more lives and beautiful souls. Human bodies and souls are extremely fragile and time is too precious."
