Thunder Road Pictures' branch into marketing merges the film and advertising worlds
Basil Iwanyk’s Thunder Road pictures has announced a collaboration with certified women owned production house Slash Dynamic. Together they will establish a presence in the marketing space. Iwanyk brings his film and television experience and reputation to the advertising sector to provide high quality short form content for brands.
Thunder Road producer Erica Lee stated: “As brands increasingly look toward feature directors to help them create compelling content, we felt the time was perfect to move into the space.”
With offices set to be in both Los Angeles and New York, the partnership will be immersed in their respective entertainment hubs. Slash Dynamic shall maintain its own brand identity but will represent Thunder Road’s roster of feature directors, taking on the position of their marketing arm. The production house’s previous involvement with Nike, Amazon and Redbull, through advertising, brand content and other immersive experiences, will strengthen Thunder Road’s position in the marketing sphere.
“Slash is expert at creating commercials and branded content, and Thunder Road is a Hollywood heavy-hitter with an amazing track record,” stated Tanya Cohen, Slash Dynamic's founder and managing director. “Together we represent an incredible roster of award-winning filmmakers and unmatched capabilities. The partnership creates a comprehensive eco-system and management structure across the media landscape, for filmmakers.”
Grossing USD3.8 billion and a series of prestigious awards, Thunder Road possess a technically and creatively competent foundation for their involvement in advertising. Producers of the John Wick franchise and supporting Halle Berry’s directorial debut for Netflix’s Bruised, the cinematic flare of their roster is sure to translate through the short form commercial package. The partnership between the two production houses creates a space for their respective directors to experience each other’s worlds. Not only is Thunder Road’s directorial roster given the opportunity to branch into creating content for a shorter product, but Slash Dynamic’s creatives can begin a transition into feature works. Their recent involvement with the automotive industry provides the perfect stage for the cinematic prowess of Thunder Road. The collaboration between film and advertising creates a connect between the two industries, allowing their talents to extend to their individual audiences.
