The Straight 8 Shootout is coming to this year's FOCUS

Are you up for a challenge? Make a Super 8 short film for the Focus Straight 8 Shootout NOW!

Pushing filmmakers out of their comfort zone, Straight 8 poses the challenge of making a 2.5 minute short film on one cartridge of super 8mm film. With no retakes, editing or post-production allowed, any visual effects or colouring must be made in the moment, on the shoot! Original soundtracks must also be made ‘blind’. Straight 8 partners Cinelab Film & Digital will then process and scan the films. As the soundtrack is lined up with the first frame of the film, fingers are crossed when entrants watch their results for the very first time, alongside the audience. Be part of the screening at this year’s FOCUS event on 7 December by entering now. Hurry, only 20 companies can take part. Winners are voted for there and then, and get to choose a charity to donate to.
