Michael Beaven takes on deputy CEO role at the PGGB
The Production Guild of Great Britain announced today that Michael Beaven has been promoted into the role of deputy CEO. In his new role, Beaven will work with PGGB’s CEO and Board of Trustees helping to develop and deliver the business strategy of the organisation, as well as oversee operational delivery. The newly instated deputy CEO is being promoted from his previous PGGB role as director of partnerships and projects and will bring his past experience as Warner Bros Pictures head of events and national publicity.
Michael Beavan, PGGB Deputy CEO, commented: “Harnessing the power and the passion generated by our members and corporate partners, coupled with the energy and enthusiasm from the Guild’s own talented team, has made this role an irresistible one for me. The future of The Production Guild of Great Britain could not be more exciting”
Joining the team in 2021 as director of partnerships and projects with a remit to grow the reach and profile of PGGB across the film and tv industry partnerships, Beaven’s two years in his previous role have seen tremendous changes. Driving a 50% increase in company affiliations with the Guild and forging new country wide relationships within the industry, Beaven saw the rollout of six new national and regional committees as well as special events that encourage more diverse approaches and improve the current state of inclusivity in the industry. An example of such an event was last month’s first ever PGGB Talent showcase sponsored by Disney Studios Content, supported by Entertainment Partners.
“In a short period Michael has made a massive impact, building new connections for PGGB and founding productive partnerships, sponsorship and event agreements with leading companies who share PGGB’s commitment to supporting talent across the country in order to keep British film and TV production at the top of its game,” stated Lyndsay Duthie, PGGB CEO. “I’m really pleased to see him step into the role of Deputy CEO; his expertise will be invaluable in helping to shape and deliver PGGB’s future priorities as we continue support and develop the professional membership we represent in today’s flourishing film and TV workforce.”
The new deputy CEO will also be bringing his previous experiences as head of events and national publicity for Warner Bros Pictures Ltd. Starting in 2001, Beaven’s time as an events and logistics consultant have allowed him to work with industry giants such as Film London, Sony Pictures Releasing and Games London.
