NEOM opens new soundstages

Hosting 140 global leaders in the screen industry, NEOM held an international showcase event where they announced the launch of their new soundstage space. Reaffirming their status as a leading destination for production in the Middle East and North Africa region, the two day event focused on conversations around facilities, locations and the future of film and television.

Marking the second purpose built space in NEOM, the new facility offers 2,400 sq metres at its media village. In total, there are now four operational stages totalling to 12,000 sq metres of production space. By the end of the year, a volumetric stage is set to have completed construction and fully functioning. In addition, there is luxury accommodation for 350 cast and crew members with the space opening up to housing 500 by the end of the year as well.

Beyond their state of the art infrastructure, highly skilled talent and crews, and an attractive 40%+ production incentive, the event provided thought provoking sessions into for what is expected to arise in the screen sector through a panel titled ‘The Future of Storytelling and Production’. Welcoming a diverse array of participants from film and television producers to global production companies, investors to service providers, the sessions on offer were filled with a range of perspectives.
