Advertorial- Italy for Movies: the complete guide to shooting in Italy
Where can you find useful information about shooting in Italy? On Italy for Movies , the portal for Italian locations and production incentives. This is an essential tool for industry professionals who want to shoot in Italy, especially given the detailed focus of the “Locations” and “Funding” sections.
The “Locations” section lists the best sets available in Italy and can be accessed using a search engine with dynamic filters: regional setting, location type and details of the environment. The database features over 2,300 sites, located across the whole country, all of which can be viewed in detail on a map. The section will soon contain details of the tariffs applicable for the use of Italy’s cultural heritage assets in film or television shoots.
The “Funding” section is a complete, updated guide to all the available funding calls, which can be consulted in summaries containing all the reference information. In addition to filters listing funding by regional, national and supranational institutions, the section home page features a map of Italy which indicates the immediately available funding calls from regional governments or film commissions.
Furthermore, filters can organise the information to show open funding calls, upcoming deadlines and new incentives or be combined. A freestanding search takes you to the incentive that fits, while a new function, created especially for international producers, makes it possible to navigate the entire section by filtering the financing opportunities available for Italian, European or international operators wanting to shoot in Italy.
Italy for Movies was commissioned by MiC-DGCA (Directorate General for Film at Ministry of Culture) and is managed by Cinecittà in partnership with the Association of Italian Film Commissions.
