Lancôme travels to Chile for commercial filming
In a dramatic display of horse riding across stretches of desert lands and snowy landscapes, Lancôme’s recent Idôle commercial sees brand face and actress Zendaya in their Chile set production. Serviced by Jacaranda Films, director Jessy Moussallem takes to the helm of the project for Publicis Luxe.
Covering all landscapes from open fields of wildflowers, desert stretches and sea side coasts, Zendaya and her cohort of horse riding models dramatically take off into the distance as the actress recites an emotionally impactful monologue in the background. With its extensive latitudinal stretch, Chile is home to many environmental conditions, captured both in actuality and developed in post production for the 44 second commercial. Shot in Copiapó and surrounding Chilean areas, the shoot was able to take advantage of the rural spaces on offer and the variety of natural conditions.
Beirut born and raised Moussallem has helmed a number of commercial projects for some of the biggest brands, including YSL’s Y starring Lenny Kravitz. Regardless of location, Mossallem captures her projects amongst nature that brings a sense of cohesion between the subject and its surroundings. The same was displayed in the Lancôme commercial, facilitated alongside DoP Benoit Debie. Other crew members include executive producer Noé Baruchel, producer Thomas Le Peutrec and production coordinator Lisa Monnet.
