Milk opens VFX studio in Barcelona
In line with its growth plans in Europe, award-winning VFX studio Milk has opened a new space in Poble Nou, Barcelona, Spain. With credits such as Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Netflix’s The Old Guards and The Martian and many more projects under their belt, along with those of recent acquisition Lola Post, the VFX studio seamlessly blend into the creative landscape of the Spanish city. Led by Milk 2D supervisor Jorge Olivia Ruiz de Leon the new studio builds on their long relationship with talent in Spain.
“We are delighted to be opening in Spain. It is a country with a thriving VFX industry, great talent and potential,” commented Milk executive chairman Jag Mundi. “With the network of studios we will now have, we can become a truly European studio able to access and develop talent and enhance our premium offering to our clients.”

Ruiz de Leon brings nine years of experience working with Milk, as well as previous stints at MPC and Framestore and an earlier career in Spain, to his leadership role. Following on from the launch of their VFX studio in Dublin and their new studio in Bordeaux, as well as the acquisition of BAFTA award-winning Lola Post Production, Milk are deep into their expansion into the European market and deepening their relationship with clients. With a range of credits including work on The Woman King, The Swimmers, Amazon’s Three Pines and What’s Love Got to Do With It, the studio is the perfect fit for its new location situated in the tech savvy district.
