Netflix’s Elite returns for an 8th season
For yet another season of mystery and teenage angst, Elite will return for an 8th season to Netflix. The Carlos Montero and Jamie Vaca creation will welcome some new faces to the saga as well as the reappearance of some familiar students. Announced on Wednesday 19 July, production on the new season is set to commence 8 August.
Whilst a plot is yet to be disclosed for the upcoming season of Elite, the saga is sure to continue for the Las Encinas students who find themselves wrapped up in scandal and mystery. Approaching 8 seasons, Elite is the longest running Spanish show on the streamer, with the upcoming story to be produced by Zeta productions once again.
Daniel Barone, Ginesta Guindal, Jota Linares and Elena Trapé will be taking the directorial reins for this season as the production welcomes the new faces of Ane Rot (Killer Book Club) and Nuno Gallego (UPA Next). Familiar face Mina el Hammani will be returning in her role of Nadia.
Other cast include Ander Puig, Carmen Arrufat, Álvaro de Juana, Ana Bokesa, Álex Pastrana, André Lamoglia, Valentina Zenere, Carla Díaz, Martina Cariddi, Adam Nourou and Manu Ríos. Mirela Balic, Fernando Líndez, Gleb Abrosimov, Ivan Mendes, Alejandro Albarracin and Maribel Verdu from the cast for the previous season.
Set at a fictional school for the wealthy, Elite is rooted in its season specific stories that fall back on the dynamic between the more well off students and their working class counterparts. With sprawling landscapes and hilltop mansions, production from previous seasons took to the outskirts of Madrid for filming, avoiding higher city costs and activity.
