The Creative Coalition to be honoured with LMGI Humanitarian Award

For the upcoming 10th annual LMGI Awards, The Creative Coalition have been honoured with the Humanitarian Award. Recognising The Creative Coalition’s commitment to using arts and entertainment to advocate for social change, the award will be revived at the live ceremony at The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica on Saturday 26 August.

“The arts have always been a powerful force for social change, and the LMGI is proud to recognize The Creative Coalition as an active social and public advocacy organization that capitalizes on its diverse membership from all facets of the entertainment industry to make a difference in the world,” said LMGI president John Rakich alongside supervising location manger Robin Citrin. 


 

Celebrating individuals and organisations that have made significant betterment of society, the LMGI Humanitarian Award recognises the above and beyond initiatives of The Creative Coalition. As the premier nonprofit, nonpartisan social and public advocacy leadership organisation of the arts and entertainment community, The Creative Coalition have led the way in educating, mobilising and activating on issues of public importance since their founding in 1989. 

 

Now under the leadership of actor Tim Daly, the organisation have spearheaded a number of socially significant projects including Arts Day on Capitol Hill held in Washington DC, a series of Public Service Campaigns that amplify voices in the entertainment industry speaking on health and welfare issues, Spotlight Initiative that thoroughly supports indecent feature films and documentaries, Television Humanitarian Awards that highlight the unique position of those in the television sector and their ability to spark impact on domestic and global issues, and the Diversity Gap Funding Initiative creating a support pipeline for the next generation of industry leaders. 

 

For the 20th anniversary of the awards, other honourees include Location Scout and LMGI founding member, Beth Tate (Twilight, Beverly Hills 90210) will receive this year’s Trailblazer Award. Veteran Location Manager Dow Griffith (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Jumanji, and Justice for All,) will receive this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
