Sustainable Film launch new survey for film and tv supply chain
Today, Sustainable Film launched their survey aimed at the film and tv supply chain to uncover how best they can be supported in their sustainable efforts. Led by Sustainable Film director Amelia Price and co-founder Jimmy Keeping, the survey aims to take an in depth look into the industry and identify the key places change is not being made.
"We want to engage with suppliers," said Sustainable Film director Amelia Price, "to find out how we can best support them. Our survey will ask questions such as: What challenges have you faced in trying to make your services more sustainable? Do you think there should be more incentives put in place to encourage sustainability in the film industry? Do you think there needs to be more support for suppliers to reduce their impact and develop sustainable ways of working? Let’s get this conversation going!”
With over 70% of the film industry’s carbon footprint attributed to the supply chain supporting the industry, studios are taking drastic action to rectify this. In an effort for self reflection, the survey, targeted at those working along the supply chain, allows respondents to identify what is preventing them from being aware of their footprints, the barriers in the way of reducing it and what they need to combat the climate crisis.
Co Founder Jimmy Keeping adds “We want to give our valued supply chain a voice. We need to understand from the supplier’s perspective on environmentally friendly practices and the obstacles they may encounter as a small business. Furthermore, we'd love to learn more about their experiences and understanding of the commercial opportunities that sustainable businesses can enjoy. Their insights will be shared with industry bodies and studios, increasing awareness and contributing to our new Green Supplier Network”
The survey, which opened today and will close on 31 October 2023 take 5-10 minutes to complete. Results will be shared on 5-6 December at this year’s FOCUS at the Islington Business Design Centre where Sustainable Film will be exhibiting.
