Heartstopper Season 3 in production
Netflix’s Heartstopper entered into production for their third season. The web comic adaptation started filming on a popular Dorset beach to continue the story of lead characters Charlie and Nick. The Alice Oseman created production will see the return of cast favourites for the third instalment of the show, which has yet to confirm a release date.
In May 2022, Netflix confirmed the third season of Heartstopper at the same time of it’s season 2 announcement, unravelling the comics of the same name, written by author Alice Oseman. Whilst last season travelled to Paris for the filming of some of Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie’s (Joe Locke) adventures, filming for season 3 has thus far been spotted in the UK, with the cast and crew photographed at Lyme Regis Beach in Dorset.
With little revealed about the upcoming season of Heartstopper, apart from Sebastian Croft’s character Ben not returning, much is left to what the comics suggest. With the finale of season 2, the conversation is set for the next season, assumed to follow the story of volume 4 of the comic. The LGBTQIA+ representative series touches on important topics including sexuality and eating disorders. The heart-warming coming of age drama received critical acclaim on its release, securing second place in Netflix’s Top 10, opening to 6.1 million viewers.
This season of Heartstopper will welcome Andy Newbery as director and returning cinematographer Simona Susnea. Cast members returning to the show include Connor and Locke, Yasmin Finney who plays Elle, William Gao in his role of Tao, Tobie Donovan as Isaac, Corinna Brown playing Tara, Kizzy Edgell as Darcy, Rhea Norwood playing Imogen and Jenny Walser as Tori.
