Screen Australia welcomes new CEO Deidre Brennan
Today Screen Australia announced the instatement of their new CEO Deidre Brennan. With a wealth of experience across the local and international screen sector, Brennan will bring her expertise to ensuring the sustainability and growth of Australia’s unique screen industry. The new CEO will take on her role starting from 8 January 2024, succeeding former CEO Graeme Mason.
“I am excited to return to Australia to lead such an important organisation, focusing on building a sustainable future for the creative industry amidst evolving technologies, competitive pressures and expanding platforms,” commented Brenna. “Screen Australia’s mission is very clear and I will strive to be a passionate advocate and partner for our creators, storytellers and emerging talent.”
Brennan’s extensive experience across the local and international screen sector has seen her take on a range of roles, most recently including her position as chief operating officer of global independent media entertainment company WildBrain. Additionally experience also includes her time at BBC Worldwide where she served as director of television, general manger and director of content, as well as head of children’s television at ABC TV and general manager of Universal Kids at NBC Universal.
