Apple gives all the Fuzzy Feelings this festive season

Apple are pulling on heartstrings this holiday season with their Fuzzy Feelings festive commercial. Together with TBWA\Media Arts Lab and director Luci Aniello, the tech company capture the life of an office worker, who tries to balance her office job with her stop animation passion.

As Fuzzy Feelings opens we see everything less than the holiday spirit, as a scrooge like man collects the spilled charity change for himself, met soon after by a karmic trail of events. Capturing all of this is a daytime office worker and night-time stop-animator, imitating life with art, as the similarities between her boss and her character are revealed. But as her real life treatment begins to improve, so doe that of her lonesome character.

To film her project, she enlists the help of the iPhone 15 and editing capabilities of a MacBook Air with M2. Set to the tune of Isn’t It a Pity by George Harrison, Fuzzy Feelings is a tearjerker amongst its humorous commercial counterparts. Aniello, whose credits include Hacks, for which she won a DGA and Two Emmys, serves as director for the project, alongside stop-motion animator and director Anna Mantzaris.

Apple’s Christmas commercial rollout is anything but expected as the years go by. From bringing the snow to Buenos Aires last year in their Juan Cabral directed project, to their hectic and heart warming short showing us how to make someone’s holiday, Apple touches on all the nuances of the season. This year is no different, as the tech company takes a turn from the jingle bell soundtracks and Christmas dinner dressed tables, keeping it simple but effective.
