PGGB announces nominees for The Duke of Edinburgh Film and TV Inclusion Award 2024
The Production Guild of Great Britain has announced their six nominees for the second annual Duke of Edinburgh Film and TV Inclusion Award. Hosted in association with Walt Disney Studios, the award celebrates and initiative that helps to foster and progress talent inclusion in Britain’s screen sector. This year’s talent showcase will return to The Savoy on Friday 8 February 2024.
“The six nominees have all demonstrated that their work has contributed to a more open, inclusive and welcoming environment to seek out and nurture new talent in our industry,” commented PGGB CEO Lyndsay Duthie. “The education, insight and support they are providing is invaluable. They are all an inspiration and should all be proud of the impact they are already making. I would also like to take this opportunity to say how delighted we are to have The Walt Disney Studios on board to support this important initiative.”
This year’s nominees include Access All Areas, Access:VFX, Georgette Turner, Million Youth Media, Resource Productions, and Screen Alliance Wales. From the six, a jury made up of PGGB members, partners and PGGB’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Group. For the inaugural ceremony , 6ft From the Spotlight were celebrated for their commitment to improving mental health and wellbeing support in the UK film and television industry.
This year, Disney return as sponsors for the award, formerly known as The Earl of Wessex Award, as they continue to support those underrepresented and unsupported in the local production workforce. They also spread their reach across initiatives with the National Film and Television School (NFTS), the London Screen Academy and MAMA Youth Project. The 2024 awards show will be held at The Savoy, London on 8 February 2024.
