Netflix’s new series Too Much to shoot in London
Netflix announced today that Lena Dunham will be bringing new series Too much to the streaming platform. Set against the backdrop of London, the romantic comedy is created by both Dunham and her husband Luis Felber, who will also contribute to the music. Hack’s actress Megan Stalter and Will Sharpe from The White Lotus will star in the series.
“This is a show that is very close to my heart – created with my husband Luis, cast with my favourite actors – the geniuses that are Meg and Will, along with a bevy of friends – and partnering again with Working Title, who are behind the romantic comedies that formed me,” commented co-creator and writer Lena Dunham. “Netflix has been so deeply supportive of the vision, which is to create a romantic comedy that makes us root for love, brings joy but also has the jagged edges of life.”
Too Much will follow New York workaholic Jessica, played by Stalter who takes her life to London when her home city triggers too many memories of past love. But London provides and unexpected match when Jessica meets Felix, played by Sharpe. From writer, director, producer and actor Dunham, whose work includes Girls and Catherine Called Birdy, the series will also bring the charm with the help of Love Actually producers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
Spearheaded by production companies A Working Title Television and Good Thing Going Production, Camilla Bray will serve as producer on the series. Executive Producers will also include Michael P. Choen, Surian Fletcher-Jones and Bruce Eric Kaplan. Filming for Too much will begin in the UK in 2024.
